So I’ve been thinking, and what if we never could possibly know what kind of life is out in the universe? Like what if “alien” life doesn’t need to breathe, eat, sleep, WHATEVER. We keep basing all of our assumptions about life in space on knowledge that applies to this universe. Science is finding new things out every day about EVERYTHING. We have only seen, what, like 5% of our oceans? What if these “aliens” are completely self-sustained, like they create and absorb all the nutrients they need to survive? What if they don’t really need nutrients to begin with? What if not all life in the universe is based upon what we are based upon? What if we truly know nothing about life outside of what we recognize from experience on this planet?
